For decades, as The British Home, we served, with passion and compassion, the needs of clients and their families. The British Home was founded by the Daughters of the British Empire and other philanthropic organizations as a not-for-profit retirement home for elderly British immigrants residing in the United States. The British Home later opened its doors to welcome older adults of all nationalities, and today enjoys a diverse mix of residents from many different backgrounds.
Regardless of background, today, adults don't merely get older, they grow older. "Age well!" is the new mantra. While many needs remain unchanged, others are changing dramatically. As attitudes, perceptions and expectations about later life evolve, the ways in which we serve the growing population of people 55 and better are evolving as well. Today, British Home remains the center for our rehabilitation services, surrounded by the many other services that comprise Cantata Adult Life Services.
